The process
Three fittings, one cutter, one suit.

I
The first fitting
An hour in the fitting room: thirty-odd measurements, how you stand, how you’ll wear it, and the cloth. We take notes no tape measure can.

II
Cutting
Your own paper pattern, drafted by hand and kept for life, then chalked and cut from the cloth by one cutter.

III
Baste and forward fittings
The suit is tacked together and fitted on you, taken apart, adjusted, and fitted again — usually twice.

IV
Finishing
Buttonholes worked by hand, the lining set, a final press. Eight to ten weeks from the first fitting, and altered free for as long as you own it.

Cloth
Two thousand cloths, from the best mills in England and Italy.
Six of two thousand. Bring the bunch home if you’d like.
